Harrison, Rangers Shutout Rockies For First Time All Season To Pick Up Win, 5-0

While a player after another marched to the plate to strange music selections more humorous walk- up, the Rangers played their first really cool game in over a week in the 5-0 win over Colorado on Thursday.

It was the first time this season in Colorado has been excluded. The Rockies had won the first three games of the series by a composite score of 29-5.

But the Rangers combined solid starting pitching from Matt Harrison, an opportunistic offense cooler and a couple of strong defensive plays to avoid a four-game sweep and two of the city by the hottest team in the National League.
 
"We did things that we can do tonight," manager Ron Washington said. "We did everything. Played defense. We have hits. And we planted. Tonight we created some opportunities and took advantage of them."

The game report:

• Arms: LHP Matt Harrison, in one out, bases loaded, got a double play grounder C Mike McHenry. Harrison left ... with a runner on first and one out in the sixth , marking the ninth time in their last 10 games Rangers starter not have lasted six innings. RHP ... RANGERS SEVENTH: Robinson Chirinos led off with a double and scored on a single by Michael election. The Rangers added another run on a wild pitch. Rangers 5, Colorado 0
